Power Disconnection
There are times when you will need to temporarily or permanently disconnect the power from your property.
For your safety, the electricity supply must always be disconnected before you undertake demolition work on your property and no extensive construction work be carried out until approval has been given by a Level 2 electrician.

Temporary disconnection for maintenance work
A temporary power disconnection from the power supply can be requested if you are undertaking maintenance work on your property such as painting, roofing or tree trimming.
One of our electricians will temporarily disconnect the electrical supply to your property and when the work has been completed, we will return to reconnect your property to the network.
Permanent disconnection from the electrical network
If you plan to permanently demolish a building, you will need to advise a Level 2 electrician who will then send a request for a power disconnection so that meters can be removed from your property and accounts finalised.
When you request a permanent power disconnection, the electricity supply to your property will be permanently cut off and removed from the network.
If your property has overhead power lines, we will remove the fuse and disconnect the service cable from the overhead electricity network. For underground power cables, we will remove the fuse from the pillar and the cable will be dug up and removed from the underground electricity network.
Our electricians will then test the overhead and underground connections to ensure they are no longer live and that the power is made safe at the perimeter of your property.
